From the moment you start building your portfolio, you should take into consideration that it might need rebalancing. We rebalance our Chainalytics Labs portfolios every 2 months. As an email member, you’ll receive our rebalancing signals and know exactly how our Portfolios have been rebalanced. Members will also receive a rebalancing signal when something extraordinary happens in the market that you might want to adapt your portfolio to.

WHY?

Rebalancing is the way to make sure your portfolio remains in line with your risk appetite. Your portfolio matches your risk style and goals, but it is not set in stone. Adjust it if you want to take less or more risk, or if one coin is doing way better than the others.

How often?

We’re not a big fan of rebalancing too often, to avoid unnecessary fees and taxes. This means we don’t send you daily or weekly signals. We like to keep it simple and smart. Once every two months (what we do) or less is fine, unless the market is going really crazy. When that happens, check how your actual portfolio compares to the plan. If it's too far off, take some profits from the winners and move them to another part of your portfolio. Just be careful with fees and taxes (depending on the exchanges and your country). Changing things too often can eat into your gains.

How?

You rebalance your portfolio by selling some coins and buying some others to achieve your desired portfolio distribution. We provide a Portfolio Rebalancer tool to help you determine how many of each desired coin you should buy or sell, based on your current portfolio and your desired coin distribution. This saves you a lot of time and is super easy to use!
